Lattice Semiconductor is seeking a Principal UI Engineer to join the EDA tools development team in Pune.  This position is an opportunity to be part of a dynamic team with ample opportunity to contribute, learn and grow.

Accountabilities: 

• Lead the design and development of the UI for our cross-platform IDE using the Qt toolkit.
• Ensure the Lattice UI tools provide intuitive, coherent, well thought out and engaging user experience for FPGA design.
• As a principal UI engineer, you will work closely with marketing requirements and generate architectural & functional UI specifications and testing requirements and ensure that the implementations match the design intent.
• Mentor and guide junior UI engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
• Have an eye for aesthetics and UX aspects of Lattice EDA suite and ensure collateral like color schemes, icons, UI paradigms etc. are of high quality and contemporary.
• Identify the need for conducting user research and usability testing to gather feedback and iterate on designs when appropriate.
• Maintain high standards of code-quality, performance, and reliability.
• Keep track of state of the art in UI/UX design to conceptualize and detailed execution strategies for next generation Lattice EDA toolchain.
• Contribute to Spec and Plan process.
• Improve development methodologies and processes.

 

Qualifications:

• BS/MS/PhD Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
• 15+ years of experience in software development for FPGA or ASIC EDA software.
  Familiar with commercial FPGA tools and operation flow is a plus.
• Must be proficient with C++ and Qt framework.
• Strong background in object-oriented programming, data structures and algorithms.
• Knowledge of shell, TCL or Python scripting is a plus.
• Experience in using OpenGL is an added plus.
• Knowledge in FPGA logic design is a plus.
• Detail oriented and must possess independent problem-solving skills.
• Must be able to drive projects and lead a discussion.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, and collaboration skills with the ability to work with multiple groups.
