Responsibilities & Skills

We are seeking an experienced Unix/VMware Systems Engineer to manage and optimize our datacenter infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Linux/Unix systems administration, VMware virtualization, and cloud technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Administration:

    • Manage and maintain Linux/Unix systems in enterprise environment.

    • Perform system security hardening, patches, and updates.

    • Configure and troubleshoot system performance.

    • Handle user administration and access management.

    • Implement backup and recovery solutions.

  • Virtualization Management:

    • Administer VMware vCenter and ESXi environments.

    • Create and manage virtual machines and hosts.

    • Perform VM migrations and capacity planning.

    • Configure resource allocation and optimization.

    • Monitor virtual infrastructure performance.

  • Infrastructure Support:

    • Manage datacenter operations and infrastructure.

    • Handle server hardware troubleshooting and maintenance.

    • Implement disaster recovery solutions.

    • Monitor system health and performance.

    • Manage storage solutions and backup systems.

  • Security & Compliance:

    • Implement security policies and procedures.

    • Perform vulnerability assessments and remediation.

    • Maintain compliance with industry standards.

    • Manage security tools and monitoring systems.

    • Handle security incidents and escalations.

  • Cloud Integration:

    • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure).

    • Manage hybrid cloud environments.

    • Implement cloud security measures.

    • Handle cloud resource optimization.

    • Monitor cloud costs and usage.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.

  • 8+ years of experience in Unix/Linux administration.

  • Strong experience with VMware vSphere/ESXi.

  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS preferred).

  • Experience with automation tools and scripting.

  • MCSA/AWS certifications preferred.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and team collaboration abilities.
