Lattice Semiconductor is seeking an Applications Engineer to join the Boards design team under Applications engineering organization.  This position is an opportunity to be part of a dynamic team with ample opportunity to contribute, learn and grow.

Responsibilities & Skills

Accountabilities: 

  • Lead all aspects of PCB design for FPGA silicon products from stack-up through production including PCB development, project management, architecture, schematic entry, layout/signal integrity analysis, and validation.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to create board specs, meet design requirements and constraints.
  • Create/modify schematics, accurate component symbols, footprints, and database entries from manufacturer's datasheets.
  • Perform/support high-speed simulation of critical signals and stack-up planning for digital designs.
  • Work with the infrastructure team to ensure that the software and lab equipment are current with the latest industry standards.
  • Work with Sales, Marketing and Field Applications team to support innovation and customer adoption of our products.
  • Assist in management of customer escalations and support tickets.

 

Required Skills:

  • Experience with microelectronic circuit design and hardware engineering.
  • Experience with PCB development, including planning, schematic entry (Allegro or equivalent), layout/signal integrity analysis, and validation.
  • Hands-on lab experience (measurement, scopes, signal generation etc.).
  • Experience in a wide variety of physical interface standards, including LVCMOS, SPI, I2C, DDR, LVDS, and SERDES is highly desired.
  • Hands-on FPGA development experience, including verification is highly desired.
  • Expertise with Verilog and/or VHDL is desired.
  • Experience with customer technical support is desired.
  • Experience with silicon support, including design debug and documentation is desired.
  • Outstanding English communication skills, both written and verbal required.
  • Must be able to work independently and also in a team environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize appropriately and manage competing priorities.
