Responsibilities & Skills

Job Title:

Applications Engineer

 

Location:

San Jose, California

 

Position Duties:

 

Research, design, develop and test software development solutions including:
Creating Windows kernal drivers, userspace drivers, services, libraries and applications to support FPGA integration into customer solutions;
Creating embedded software solutions based on 32bit microcontrollers;
Co-working across departments to support the development of system solutions;
Creating products collaterals to guide end-users on how to use and integrate Lattice design solutions and software into their end products; and
Providing technical support to Field Applications Engineers and end customers on issues they encounter while integrating Lattice solutions in their systems.

Will use expertise with the following:
Windows software development including driver, service, library and application software development;
Embedded firmware development and embedded processor designs;
Developing, leading and managing system-level design projects including reference designs, system demos and custom systems;

Will use the following tools:
System bring up experience using HW tools, oscilloscope, multi-meter, etc;
embedded development tools, logic analyzer, I2C/SPI analyzer, and USB analyzer;
Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning applications;
RISCV architecture and RTOS;
Linux development, including Windows;
Familiarity with FPGA design flows with FPGA development software tools;
Security and secure software applications.

 

Minimum Requirements:

 

Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related field

 

5 years of experience

 

Prior experience to include:
•          x86 assembly, C, C++ programming;
•          SAS/SATA HBA storage controller device firmware development and debugging;
•          Embedded system driver development and debugging;
•          Windows software development including driver, service, library and application software development.
•          Embedded firmware development and embedded processor designs
•          Developing reference designs and custom systems for Windows and Linux OS architecture.
