Responsibilities & Skills

Lattice is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Storage and Backup Lead Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. As the lead engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and managing our storage and backup solutions. You will be responsible for ensuring the availability, scalability, and performance of our storage infrastructure while providing technical leadership to a team of storage professionals.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Storage Architecture and Design: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to architect, design, and implement storage and backup solutions that meet the Lattice’s performance, availability, and data protection requirements.
  • Deployment and Configuration: Lead the deployment and configuration of storage systems, including integration with existing infrastructure components such as servers, networks, and backup systems.
  • Performance Optimization: Monitor and analyze storage performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks and issues to ensure optimal system performance for applications and data access.
  • Data Protection and Backup: Design and manage data protection strategies, including backup and disaster recovery plans, leveraging Rubrik's capabilities to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Capacity Planning: Forecast storage capacity needs based on business growth and application requirements. Implement proactive measures to manage and optimize storage capacity.
  • Security and Compliance: Implement and maintain security best practices for storage systems, ensuring data confidentiality and compliance with industry regulations.
  • Troubleshooting and Support: Act as the escalation point for complex storage-related issues, working closely with the technical team to diagnose and resolve problems efficiently.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for storage and backup solutions, including architecture diagrams, configurations, procedures, and best practices.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies related to storage solutions. Identify opportunities for process enhancements and efficiency gains.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Master's degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a lead engineer in designing, implementing, and managing complex storage solutions, with a focus on NetApp and Rubrik technologies.
  • In-depth knowledge of NetApp storage systems (ONTAP, AFF, FAS) and Rubrik's data management platform.
  • Experience in storage performance tuning, capacity planning, and data protection strategies.
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud storage integration.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex storage issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Relevant certifications such as NetApp Certified Implementation Engineer (NCIE), Rubrik Certified Engineer (RCE), or equivalent certifications from recognized vendors.
  • Solid understanding of security best practices and compliance requirements for storage systems.
  • Proactive and self-motivated with a passion for staying updated on industry trends and emerging technologies.
